Day 5 (12 Feb 2012) – Problem 5: Wearing contact lenses pass its replacement date
Today we talk about wearing contact lenses pass its replacement date!
It’s a super common problem for people to use their lenses even pass their replacement dates. I’ve heard my friends do the same.
Perhaps you’re too busy to buy your new pair of lenses on time, or forgot when you purchased the lenses and thus were not able to determine when to change a new pair?
It’s important to understand the REASONS behind having to replace your contacts on a frequent basis. It is to prevent:
-Discomfort
-Dryness
-Blurred vision
-Allergic reaction (causing build-up of protein and lipid deposits on the lenses)
Even though these symptoms are not in your face and obvious, not replacing your lenses on time will subject your eyes to a greater risk of eye infections.
What are some remedies then?
1. Purchase your lenses in bulk whenever possible; make good use of promotional discounts when buying in bulk!! That’s what I do.
2. Track your purchases and use on a calendar, setting reminders or alarms for yourself so that you remember to change your lenses!
Always ensure the health of your eyes, for you’ll be rewarded with sights truly worth keeping.
